Dalai Lama Speaks On The Need For More Women In Power
I was having a conversation with a friend about how women's emotional genes attribute to a more selfless nature; therefore can make us better leaders...than men. Yes, that's quite the aggressive and feminist statement; but who would've known that at the same time I was having this conversation, the Dalai Lama was more or so agreeing with me in a recent article with USA TODAY.
"My mother lavished her boundless love on me. I never saw the slightest expression of anger cross her face, and she always spread goodness around her. I think of her as my first teacher. It was she who first taught me the priceless lesson of compassion," said Dalai Lama.
The Women's Rights Movement fought for equality, but the ultimate test was whether or not women could actually work just as hard as men and make the tough decisions. Not only have we proven that we can work and think just as hard/fast in the workplace but also in politics, sports and the arts. I believe that the special gift of compassion that women have allow us to think outside of the box. Not that men can't have compassion for situations and others, but the testosterone can sneak in and alter that sort of thinking at times. It's in our nature to nurture and study the outcome of our decisions much more.
Ladies, our time is now. Let's continue to strive for more, support one another and make sure that we wear that superwoman cape that we all have hanging in our spiritual closets, everyday. After all, who is more powerful than the goddesses that birth life, love hard, work hard and look great doing it?
