How Did OSOT Celebrate the Holidays?

Our sisters celebrated the holidays the only way we knew how: by spreading the love to those who needed it. This year, we partnered up with Athletes & Entertainers for Kids/9-1-1 for Kids and celebrated Christmas with Kathy Ireland and some of the most amazing kids we were lucky enough to meet. The 33 rd Annual Kathy Ireland Children’s Christmas Celebration (KICCC) was a celebration to remember! Since 1986, Athletes & Entertainer’s for Kids has hosted this holiday event for disenfranchised children aged 4-11 years.

Fun fact: the very first Christmas celebration took place in East Los Angeles with the support of the Lakers and Raiders franchises!

OSOT’s biggest event to date was headed up by our very own Taylor Marie & her mentor Elise Kim. Partnering up with Kathy Ireland Worldwide, we took in 300 amazing children for a memorable day of fun. An approximate 80 volunteers helped us achieve a Christmas Celebration to remember.

Our Mission: Our sisters had one mission: to help give these children a holiday THEY DESERVED, a holiday they may otherwise have missed out on.

About the Children: These kids don’t have the opportunity to celebrate the holidays like most of us; impacted by neglect, poverty, and absent parents. Though we cannot replicate a real family, what we can do is give them a day to remember, full of care & memories they’ll carry with them. We had so much fun with 300 happy kids who came to us through children’s service agencies, group homes, foster care and community-based organizations who serve abandoned children, wards of the county, and children of single mothers from Southern California.

About 9-1-1 for Kids: The KICCC is organized by 9-1-1 for Kids: Public Education & Caller Training – the official caller training program for the United States, Canada, and the Cayman Islands. It operates under the help of Athletes & Entertainers for Kids, a non-profit educational and mentoring organization established by Howie Long and Elise Kim in 1986.

Activities! We woke up extra early to make sure the Christmas Celebration was in full effect! From decorating stockings and ornaments to cupcake & cookie decorating, we had more than just our hands full! Accompanied by holiday sing-a-longs and choir performances, this event truly defined what it meant to appreciate the little things we have, and the importance of spreading cheer. Kathy Ireland herself spent time with all 300 children and had a story time before Santa came to visit! With the help of Kathy, Santa delivered gifts to every single child.

Sponsors: With the help of sponsorship from amazing companies and organizations, this Children’s Christmas Celebration was one to remember.
