From starting off with mini song covers posted onto her Twitter account to reaching the number 22 spot on Billboard’s Twitter Emerging Artists chart with a song of her own, Sabrina Claudio is here to stay.
Claudio, of Cuban and Puerto Rican blood, grew up in Miami before moving to Los Angeles, where she began her music career. As mentioned before, she first began with recording and releasing video covers on Twitter. Later, she transitioned to original tracks which she posted onto SoundCloud. In 2016, Claudio released several singles, including of: “Orion’s Belt,” “Runnin’ Thru Lovers,” and “Confidently Lost.” These songs form part of her EP, Confidently Lost which she originally released on SoundCloud in March 2017. Now, you can find it on all platforms.
In May 2017, Claudio released her single, “Unravel Me,” landing the #22 spot in Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists chart, that now is part of her project About Time. She also released “Belong To You,” this year which peaked at #2 on the same chart. Without a doubt, “Belong To You” received a lot of attention, which led to the release of the remix featuring R&B artist 6LACK. Claudio is currently on her first major North American tour alongside 6LACK, for his “FREE 6LACK TOUR.”
In a recent interview with Billboard, Claudio spills that growing up in an environment surrounded by salsa and merengue sounds has definitely and always will influence her music in terms of sonics and sounds.

What’s inevitable to notice about the 21-year-old R&B sensation, is her sex appeal. The important thing to note is, Claudio owns her sexuality by showing how comfortable she is in her own skin. You can see this not only in her visuals, but hear it in her lyrics as well.
Claudio’s message to women is to “embrace yourself.” She believes it’s important to embrace yourself and love yourself no matter what. She says, “...do not let any insecurities get you to a place where you feel like you need to change something.”
Claudio is definitely doing an amazing job of portraying the “own your body, love your sexuality, be yourself, love your skin” message to all of her fans. Those of you who are familiar with her, know she’s all about being herself and doesn’t want any less of her fans.
For now, catch her first national TV performance on the CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden, which can be watched online via YouTube.
