Happy Women Crush Wednesday #wcw to all the girl bosses in the making!

This weeks WCW is dedicated to one of the most beautiful souls we have all been blessed with. An icon, Oprah Winfrey. Oprah is a media mogul, talk show host, actress, producer, philanthropist and so much more. She is universally loved and inspires so many women all over the world. When I think of the original business women, before #girlboss was a thing, I immediately think of Oprah. She has been killin’ the game for what feels like my entire 20 something years of life. Alongside her accomplishments in her career, she has used her platform to speak her truth and help effect change. Thank you for being our voice, Oprah.

Many of you saw her heartfelt, enlightening speech as she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 75th Golden Globe Awards. In that moment she became the very first black woman to ever receive this award. Another revolutionary win for the books! Oprah went on to elaborate on how finding our voice is the only way to bring about change. She gave examples of the past and visions for the future. She stood firmly for those who have been sexually harassed in every industry and how we can create a better tomorrow “when nobody ever has to say ‘me too’ again”.  Her perfectly orated speech was impactful, authentic and empowering. It will be replayed for generations to come. These are the leaders we need for our future.

Definitely couldn’t end this weeks WCW without a shoutout to all the women (as well as men) standing in solidarity and breaking down barriers. Inspired by every single person fighting for the future, fighting for equality, fighting for peace.
