Women Owned Businesses To Keep On Your Radar - Beauty and Fashion

Cheers to another successful week fam! Let’s wrap it up with content made to inspire and empower: women owned businesses to keep on your radar. For this edition, I’m focusing on the beauty and fashion industries.

House of CB and Mistress Rocks Founder: Conna Walker Conna started House of CB when she was just 17 years old. She’s now 24 and has grown her company to be a very successful clothing brand. Conna is from London, UK so you know she breathes fashion. Much like many of the women on this list, she had a dream and went after it. One of her stores is out here in West Hollywood, California. The unique styles and quality of clothing is a huge selling point. High fashion meets an affordable price point. The pieces make you feel like everyday is Fashion Week. It’s a millennial dream and I’m here for it!

Ouai Haircare Founder: Jen Atkin Jen got her start as a celebrity stylist finessing the locks of some of your favorite socialites. She created Ouai off of real problems her clients were having. She has styled all kinds of hair types. I personally admire the Ouai brand because of the focus on inclusivity. Jen made sure to have products for all hair types, something for everyone. We all know how important this is. My favorite products are the Rose Hair and Body Oil (the smell and texture is unreal) and the Smoothing Cream (perfect for sleek styles). I had the opportunity to attend a panel over the 2017 holiday season led by Jen. Everyone will agree, she’s beautiful inside and out. Another great reason to support Ouai!

Mint Swim and Fine Ass Girls Founder: Draya Michele

I first discovered Draya a few years back when she was on the reality show, Basketball Wives. She’s a prime example of how your past does not have to define your future. Draya went on to found multiple business including Mint Swim and Fine Ass Girls. She has seen major success with her brands. She consistently speaks on where she came from and how it’s important for her to teach young girls that they can do anything they set their mind to. For example, she’s from one of the poorest cities in the nation but found a way to make it out and turn her dreams into reality. Inspiring to say the least!

Beauty Bakerie Makeup

Founder: Cashmere Nicole

Cashmere overcame many obstacles on her journey to success, including battling breast cancer. After overcoming health issues she was able to come out stronger than ever and created a brand that ensures high quality products. Her brand has grown tremendously in the past few years. All of the Beauty Bakerie Makeup products are inspired by sweet treats which is an adorable concept. Really sets the company apart from the slew of other beauty brands. Instead of focusing on what’s mainstream and sexy, they focus on what's sweet and different.

One of the keys to success is honing in on your personal brand. Whatever makes you unique as a business woman and how you carry yourself. Make sure it’s represented in the most positive light. Stay empowered babes!
